IHHS Mock Trial teams continue their highly successful program, ending 2016 on a high note. Below is an update from Coach Steve Reger:
While everyone else was getting a start to Christmas vacation, our Mock Trial teams were braving the elements and the competition to take care of business at the second annual MockHawk tournament at Miami.
Returning as the defending champs, we departed Indian Hill at 6:30 this cold, icy, Sunday morning, and arrived at Miami to face teams from all over the state. We ended up going 8-0 and our two teams placed 2nd and 1st overall - causing one parent of an opposing school to state, "They ought to ban Indian Hill from these things; give someone else a chance."
Emily Sheard (11) and Cooper Pierce (10) each won an Outstanding witness award.
James Orr (11), the runner-up for tournament MVP, won two Outstanding Attorney awards, scoring 19 out of 20 possible points in the process.
And Sarah Kaplan (10), the tournament MVP, won two Outstanding Attorney awards, scoring 20 out of 20 possible points in the process.
Next up, after a tough holiday practice schedule, our teams will attempt to win the UC tournament for an unprecedented 4th year in a row!
