The Indian Hill Exempted Village School District is excited to announce Matt Haskamp – a seasoned administrator who is dedicated to helping students excel academically and in athletics – as our new athletic director.

“Mr. Haskamp is a proven, student-centered leader who understands that athletic programs are an outstanding opportunity for our scholars to excel outside the classroom and learn teamwork, determination, and commitment to a common goal,” said Indian Hill Superintendent Dr. Mark Miles. “Mr. Haskamp comes to us with a total of 14 years of service to students at high-performing public and private schools. His record is impressive, and we expect to make great strides under his leadership.”

Haskamp was most recently the athletic director and assistant principal at Highlands High School with the Fort Thomas Independent School District in Kentucky where he had oversight of 23 varsity interscholastic programs. His professional experience includes leadership as an athletic director, principal, assistant principal, teacher, guidance counselor, and coach.

“I am very excited to lead the Indian Hill athletics program at a time when athletics at schools have never been more important,” said Haskamp. “Students need opportunities in athletics to build confidence in themselves in order to take the education risk we want them to take in the classroom; professional opportunities like this are rare, and I feel that my experience has prepared me for this challenge.”

During his tenure working in the Fort Thomas Independent School District (2007-2018), Haskamp led change, managed capital improvements, introduced systems to improve efficiency, and worked as an advocate for students. He started his career of serving students at Covington Catholic High School, also a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, where he worked from 2004-2007.

Haskamp replaces retiring Athletic Director Jeff Zidron. During Zidron’s five-year tenure, he oversaw the improvement of multiple athletic facilities including Tomahawk Stadium, Shawnee Field, baseball/softball fields, and Indian Hill High School locker rooms.  Since 2013, noted accomplishments include state championships in girls’ tennis, girls’ soccer, and girls’ lacrosse; multiple Cincinnati Hills League (CHL) championships; and the receipt of the CHL All Sports Trophy in 2017 and 2018.

“We thank Mr. Zidron for his leadership, vision, and dedicated service to our students, our parents, and our community the past five years,” said Miles. “The positive impact he made will forever benefit the student-athletes and families who were fortunate to work with him; we wish him the very best in retirement.”
